Our wine ethos is simple. We like to call it natural wine. WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?! The gist is wine reflective of it's terroir, made by producers working organically, bio-dynamically and with the least amount of intervention possible between the grapes and the bottling. Wild yeasts, no additives, no preservatives, no excessive use of sulphur, no messing around with what nature has to offer. If you want to know more then we host regular public tastings and events in collaboration with importers and wine makers.
Any of the bottles on our shelves are available to takeaway, or drink in. On a day to day basis we'll open a few bottles to pour by the glass depending on our mood, the weather, or just what's exciting us right now.
We serve a daily changing blackboard menu of small plates, bar snacks & handmade pizza. The latest version will always be posted on instagram. We work with local suppliers for our veg and dairy, as well as importers sourcing some of Europes best charcuterie and cheeses. On weekends we serve brunch.
Those signature cinnamon buns from our sister site Upshot are available on Saturday and Sunday. Throughout the rest of the week we have a selection of homemade treats, along with some of our neighbour Box Bakery’s goodies. Pete at Box Bakery also does all of our signature malted rye loaves for bread & butter and the weekend brunch.
We make our coffee to the same exacting standards as our sister-store, Upshot. Our batch brew changes weekly, using roasters from all over the UK and Europe, whilst our espresso is roasted by the glorious Girls Who Grind Coffee and served with local Our Cow Molly milk, or Oatly m*lk alternative.
